(Personal Learning Project – Not for Distribution)
This project is a full remake of the original The Legend of Zelda, recreated as a personal learning experience. It will not be distributed or shared publicly due to copyright restrictions and is intended strictly for educational and development purposes.
This game holds a special place for me as my all-time favorite, tied to many great childhood memories. That personal connection is a big part of what drives this project and makes rebuilding it especially meaningful.
The goal of this remake is to study and better understand the design of one of the most influential games of all time. By rebuilding the game from the ground up, I aim to develop foundational skills in programming, game systems design, and project management.
A major focus of this project is improving my abilities in game art. While I have experience with logic and systems, creating visual assets is currently my weakest area. This remake provides a structured way to practice pixel art, animation, and visual consistency within an established style.
Progress updates will be shared throughout development, including screenshots, short clips, and gameplay demonstrations featuring modified graphics and original assets. These updates are intended to document the learning process, showcase improvements over time, and provide insight into both the technical and creative aspects of the project.
Overall, this project serves as a hands-on approach to learning how classic games are built, while strengthening my skills across coding, design, and art in a practical, applied way.
