2 Dudes 1 Comp is a highly sophisticated, industry-disrupting game studio powered by exactly two dudes and one computer that probably should not be running half the things we make it run.
What started as a “this might be fun” idea turned into a full-blown passion project where we learn new skills, break things, fix them sometimes, and make games along the way. At the end of the day, we are just two guys who love video games and figured we might as well try making the kind we actually want to play.
We have been best friends for over 20 years, which means we have had plenty of time to become the most unlikely duo you will ever see. East Coast meets West Coast, salt and pepper, ebony and ivory, all coming together to consistently agree on bad ideas that occasionally turn into good ones.
The team is simple. Nick Magnum builds the games. All of it. Code, systems, mechanics, and whatever else is required to turn an idea into something playable.
Al B. Black provides critical support by being present, offering commentary, and occasionally saying something that sounds important enough to keep. He is also in charge of music and sound design, which is impressive considering none of our games currently have any audio. His role is essential for morale and maintaining the illusion of a balanced team.
Our focus is simple. Build fun, challenging 2D and pixel-style games with strong storytelling, interesting worlds, and gameplay that does not waste your time. We love retro games, so that influence shows up in just about everything we do, just with our own twist for better or worse.
We are not a big studio. We are not trying to be. We are here to learn, create, and put out games that we actually enjoy playing. If you enjoy them too, that is a win.
Side note: We are always looking for an artist to handle all visual aspects of our games, mostly because we do not want to. Compensation includes high fives, dap, and semi-complimentary words.
You will also receive 100 percent of the profits from all of our free games, which is a very competitive offer in this market.
Serious inquiries only. Mild talent preferred. Ability to tolerate sarcasm required.
